"Nobody tells men the truth anymore. Not their schools. Not the media. Not even their churches. This guide does."
Lie #1, "Your Anger Is Good"
The lie: Men are told to get angry. “Anger is strength.” or, “I have righteous anger.”
The truth: Righteous anger isn’t real. This isn’t to say that you should stand by quietly while someone assaults you. No, of course not, but this isn’t what I’m talking about. God doesn’t gets angry. Beta’s get angry. Beta’s get angry and that anger is what paralyzes you to being stuck. It’s akin to fear. You bitch, moan and groan without the courage to act properly. Or, you overreact and lash-out. The idea is to see the anger and realize that it isn’t real. I’m not saying that I don’t feel angry at times. The task is to realize it and don’t react to it. It’s the devil whispering to you to overreact to situations and this blinds you to how to properly respond.
The challenge: Identify one thing in your life not worth being angry about, and do nothing about it. Yes nothing, because an action from that anger will always be wrong. While action from a cool head will always be right. Wait and see as to what to do. The answer will come.
Lie #2, "A Real Man Doesn't Need God"
The lie: Faith is a crutch. Real strength is self-made. You don't need anyone, especially not God.
The truth: Every great civilization was built by men who feared God more than they feared men. Humility before God isn't weakness, it's the foundation of unshakable strength. What was right was important and what’s right is truth. That truth comes from God. Not from an emotion.
The challenge: Spend 10 minutes in silence today. No phone. No noise. Just you and God.
Lie #3, "Leadership Is Oppression"
The lie: Men leading their families is control. Hierarchy is abuse. Everyone gets a vote, including the kids.
The truth: A family without a leader isn't free, it's just rudderless. Someone always leads. The question is whether it's you, or whether you've abdicated and let chaos fill the void.
The challenge: Name one area of your home where you've been passive. Take ownership of it this week.
Lie #4, "Provide, Shut Up, and Be Grateful"
The lie: Your only value is your paycheck. Your opinion doesn't matter. Don't rock the boat.
The truth: A man who only provides but never leads, never speaks, never corrects, isn't a husband or a father. He's a paycheck with a pulse. Your voice matters. Use it.
The challenge: Have one honest conversation you've been avoiding without falling into anger. Today.
Lie #5, "It's Too Late To Change"
The lie: You've made too many mistakes. You're too far gone. The damage is done.
The truth: Every man in Scripture who did something great had a past. David. Paul. Peter. God doesn't recycle, He redeems. The only question is whether you're willing to be led.
The challenge: Write down one version of yourself you want to become. Put it somewhere you'll see it every morning.
"Weak men don't become strong by accident. It takes truth, discipline, and a community that holds you to a higher standard."
